Meet The Team

Pre-School Manager
Jane
Jane is our highly capable, highly educated super Preschool Manager!
Jane originally trained at level 3 early years as a practitioner with Senco responsibilities and then went on to do assessing and verification processes. She qualified as a teacher specialising in Early years and Health and Social Care.
Jane also has a Masters level course in Behaviour Management in Schools/Early Years. and is a trained Paediatric first aider with Food Hygiene and Manual Handling along with Level 4 Safeguarding .
She has a love of supporting children and watching them develop, and says “I particularly enjoy seeing that 'lightbulb' moment when a child sees and understands how to do something for the first time”.
Jane specialised in safeguarding and special needs within her teaching to be able to support children and staff in their development and sees that as hugely rewarding.
Out of work there's not been much time in recent years due to teaching commitments but where she can Jane is a very keen home crafter! She makes handmade cards, quilts, cross stitch and has become quite good at making decals for cars!
She very much enjoys reading and hitting the country side or the sea for a walk with family and the dog.

Deputy Manager
Marie
Marie is our Deputy Manager and always wanted to be a teacher! Marie worked in many settings before training to be a teacher and a lot of people tried to put her off along the way - paperwork and long hours! So, Marie initially studied an Illustration degree at Portsmouth University but couldn’t be deterred from returning to the classroom and gaining her PGCE at Plymouth University, specialising in Early Years.
As well as a specialism in the Early Years, Marie was also fascinated by Special Educational Needs, in particular Speech and Language, and so worked in a Speech and Language Resource Centre for a year, rated Outstanding by Ofsted. As such, Marie will be training to be our SENCO at Hambledon Preschool.
Marie loves being creative and getting very messy! She also loves being outside, climbing trees and going on Bear Hunt adventures in her local woods with her two young children. She is also thrilled to be the role of Forest School lead for Hambledon Preschool.

Early Years
Dana
Dana joined Hambledon Pre-school in 2018 and is much loved by all the children. She is qualified to level 3 BTEC in children's learning and development. Dana always wanted to work in childcare and loves to interact with the children from a young age and see their progression through to starting primary.
Outside of work Dana likes to braid and style hair.

Early Years
Archie
Archie joined Hambledon in September 2021 and has a Level 3 Btec National Diploma in Children’s Play Learning and Development
He went into childcare to try and make a difference in children’s lives as he has always felt strongly that the early years are fundamental to their whole journey.
Archie loves listening to music and playing his guitar and hopes to use his musical attributes within the preschool!

Early Years
Katey
Katey joined Hambledon Preschool as the apprentice in 2020 and has been doing a vocational SENCO course. She has three children of her own and lives in the village so knows the setting very well!
